Who we are

TheNode.tech ("TheNode", "we") publishes a daily, AI-summarized tech newsletter. We are based in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Contact: hello@thenode.tech.

What we collect

• Account data: your email address, the channels you choose, your language, timezone and delivery preferences.
• Subscription data: if you buy Premium, our payment provider Polar processes your payment. We only receive your subscription status, never your card details.
• Usage data: privacy-friendly, cookie-free page analytics (Plausible), and answers you give to the "Was this issue useful?" buttons.

How we use it

To send you the newsletters you asked for, at the time and in the language you chose; to manage your Premium subscription; and to improve the newsletter. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on Convex (database and backend), Resend (email delivery), Polar (payments), Vercel (website hosting), Plausible (analytics) and OpenAI (writing summaries of public articles; no personal data is sent). These providers may process data outside Canada, under their own security and privacy commitments.

Your choices

• Change your channels, language or delivery time at any time in Settings.
• Unsubscribe from every email with one click in Settings, or from the link at the bottom of any issue.
• Ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to hello@thenode.tech.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active and delete it on request. Source articles used to build issues are deleted after processing.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
